Islamabad, June 6, 2025: The famous British spy James Bond is set to return in a brand-new video game titled James Bond 007 First Light, as revealed by game developer IO Interactive during Sony’s recent State of Play event.
The trailer featured a younger version of the legendary character created by author Ian Fleming. IO Interactive explained that the game will focus on Bond’s early life, starting from his role as a crewman in the Royal Navy.
According to the developers, Bond is recruited into MI6 after displaying a bold act of courage. The game is designed as the beginning of a larger storyline, with plans to develop it into a trilogy. It’s being created in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios.
Classic characters such as M, Q, and Moneypenny will be reimagined in the upcoming game, offering fresh interpretations of these well-known MI6 figures.
While the voice actor for James Bond hasn’t been officially named, fans have noticed a strong resemblance to actor Patrick Gibson from Dexter: Original Sin.
The game will also feature a new character, Greenway, who plays Bond’s mentor and teaches him the tactics and methods used by MI6 agents. Reports suggest Lennie James, known for The Walking Dead, will play this role.

“With varied gameplay mixing intense combat, full throttle driving, stealth, and cutting-edge gadgets. You’ll be able to fully immerse yourself in a world filled with deception and danger, powered by our proprietary engine, Glacier,” as per the PlayStation blog post.

James Bond game 007 First Light is scheduled to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5 and will also be enhanced for the PlayStation 5 Pro, supporting smooth gameplay at 60 frames per second in Quality Mode.
