Jay Shah, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has offered his predictions for the semi-finalists of the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, set to be co-hosted by the United States and the West Indies.
Shah has shared his insights on the teams he believes are likely to be strong contenders for the tournament. He asserts that India, Australia, New Zealand, and the co-hosts, West Indies, boast formidable T20 squads and are thus expected to secure spots in the semi-finals.
“The teams to watch out for are India, Australia, New Zealand, and the hosts, West Indies, due to their prowess in T20 cricket,” Shah stated, as reported by the Times of India.
Scheduled to commence on June 1, the tournament will kick off with co-hosts USA taking on neighbors Canada.
The T20 World Cup 2024 will feature the following groups:
Group A: India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, United States
Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman
Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea
Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nepal
