Islamabad, Aug 11, 2025: West Indies defeated Pakistan against the spin threat and relentless rain to achieve a five-wicket victory in the second ODI at Brian Lara Stadium on an equalized series of 1-1. Paceman Jayden Seales claimed a standout performance, bowling through Pakistan, wrecking the top order and containing them to 171/7 in 37 overs before rain adjustments reduced a revised target to 181 in 35 overs.

Pakistan, sent in to bat, suffered a lack of fluency. Openers Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub interspersed boundaries in long scoring droughts. Two balls later Jayden Seales dismissed Ayub and clean bowled Babar Azam. Mohammad Rizwan toiled to 16 off 38 balls and Shafique was out shortly after a rain break with 26. Important wickets were contributed by Gudakesh Motie and Roston Chase with a late salvo by Hasan Nawaz (36 off 30) picking up some.

The hosts were stunned early in the chase of 181 by a double blow by Hasan Ali. Keacy Carty and Shai Hope settled and Sherfane Rutherford provided an explosive 45 off 33 balls to change the rhythm. Chase (49) and Justin Greaves (26) however, weathered the storm and after the loss of both Rutherford and Hope in rapid succession, knitted together a composed 77 run partnership to lift the trophy with 10 balls to spare.

By this performance, Jayden Seales not only swung the match to West Indies but also led to an exciting decider in the third ODI game.
