Islamabad, May 12, 2025: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently visited the construction site of the Jinnah Square underpass on Murree Road, urging authorities to complete the project by the end of May.

During his visit, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, provided updates on the progress.

Despite continuous rainfall, Naqvi expressed satisfaction with both the speed and quality of work, confirming that the underpass will be officially inaugurated on May 22.

The underpass, which is set to significantly improve traffic flow, has already seen the completion of 75% of its construction.

Three out of the four slip roads are finished, and traffic has been partially restored to ensure minimal disruption for the public.

With officials confident that the remaining work will be completed on schedule, the final touches will include the addition of green spaces and high-quality landscaping, which Naqvi emphasized to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area.

Naqvi also visited a nearby bridge under construction and conducted a thorough review of its progress.

In addition, the minister instructed immediate action to remove encroachments along the Expressway, highlighting the government’s commitment to clearing illegal structures and improving urban planning.

This project is part of the broader vision to transform Islamabad into a world-class city with modern infrastructure and improved traffic management.
