The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) may announce a new schedule for the exams and the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) may announce a new schedule for the exams and “to protect students from the extreme heat, the Universities and Boards Department rescheduled the intermediate and matric group examinations from May 21 to May 27” according to BSEK exam controller Khalid Ehsan.
He clarified that the exam rescheduling that was going around in chat rooms and on social media following the exams’ postponement was unofficial and not in line with the official schedule. Ehsan said “that the Board would issue a new timetable as soon as feasible for the remaining matriculation tests.
It is important to note that there are two unfinished papers for the grades of 10 and 9. Exams administered by the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) were previously postponed by the Universities and Boards Department. The initially scheduled start date for these exams was May 22.Exams were postponed till May 27 because of heatwave concerns, however Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz said “that there won’t be a heatwave in Karachi this coming week”.
