Islamabad, 26 April 2025: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has announced a delay in the start of the 2025 intermediate annual examinations.
As per the latest notification, the exams, originally scheduled to begin on April 28, will now start on May 5.
Officials explained that the decision to revise the dates was made for two key reasons.
Firstly, the board is in the process of awarding grace marks to candidates from the 2024 first-year Science Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, and Science General groups.

Subjects such as Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics are being reviewed, which has slowed down preparations for the upcoming exams.
Secondly, several examination centres remain occupied due to the ongoing matriculation examinations, which began on April 8 and are set to continue until May 8.
With exam venues still in use, the board found it necessary to shift the intermediate exam dates to ensure smooth management.

In a statement, the BIEK urged students, schools, and parents to continue their preparations in line with the updated schedule.
They also mentioned that any future announcements regarding the exams would be shared through the board’s official website and social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
The board stressed that the adjustment aims to maintain the quality and organisation of the examination process, avoiding any disruptions for candidates.
Students have been advised to regularly check the official channels — the BIEK website (www.biek.edu.pk), Facebook page (www.facebook.com/BIEKarachi), and Instagram account (www.instagram.com/bie_karachi) — for timely updates.
