Islamabad, Apr 18, 2025: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a warning for a heat wave in Karachi, predicting extremely hot and dry conditions from April 20 to April 23, 2025.

According to the Met Office, the heat wave is expected to impact Karachi due to a halt in sea breezes during this time.

Temperatures are forecasted to climb by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius, with the potential for daytime highs to reach 40°C. Humidity levels are expected to remain between 40% and 50%.

The weather department has urged residents to limit their exposure to direct sunlight, especially during the day.

Authorities and other concerned bodies have been advised to take preventive actions and remain updated with the latest weather alerts.

Additionally, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert regarding the upcoming hail and dust storms.

The NDMA warns of severe weather conditions on April 18 and 19, including heavy rain, dust storms, and hailstorms across various parts of the country.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has called for caution, advising the public to take safety measures.

According to the National Emergencies Operations Center (NEOC), areas such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various districts of Punjab are likely to experience the brunt of the storm.

Among the most vulnerable areas are Chakwal, Gujrat, Jhelum, and parts of central Punjab, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, and Sargodha.

The powerful winds, heavy rain, and hailstorms could cause power outages, disrupt traffic, and cause damage to buildings.

The NDMA has specifically warned about the considerable risks to crops in agricultural regions, particularly in Punjab.
