The impact of Karachi rain has thrown the city into chaos, with broken roads, flooded underpasses, and stranded commuters struggling to move through major routes. The heavy downpour on Monday continues to paralyze daily life as repair and drainage work remain neglected.
In Liaquatabad, a recently built road caved in after the rainfall, while massive potholes appeared from Liaquatabad Post Office to Sindhi Hotel. Commuters are still waiting for restoration on the Teen Hatti stretch, adding to their misery.
Nazimabad’s main underpass is still waterlogged, with the route near Sir Syed College completely shut for traffic. At Nipa Chowrangi, the Karachi rain created a pond-like situation, halting vehicles for hours and leaving drivers stranded.
Travelers from Safora to Hasan Square faced major hurdles, while sanitation staff present on-site refused to take action. Once again, the city’s weak infrastructure and lack of immediate government response have been exposed by this heavy spell.
Meanwhile, flight operations at Jinnah International Airport were badly hit. The aftereffects of Monday’s Karachi rain caused several delays and cancellations of both domestic and international flights. Sources revealed that even after 12 hours, flight schedules could not return to normal.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) cancelled its Karachi to Islamabad flight PK-300 and the return PK-301, while other domestic flights faced long delays. International passengers were also left frustrated as communication lines failed, preventing them from getting timely updates.

Airport officials added that only a few passengers could reach Jinnah International Airport due to widespread waterlogging and blocked roads. Many travelers remained stranded, highlighting how the Karachi rain has not only disrupted city life but also created nationwide travel chaos.
