In the recently announced IBA Sukkur MDCAT 2025 results, students from Karachi outperformed candidates from all other districts of Sindh. The top three positions were claimed by Karachi students while 41 of the top 124 scorers also hailed from the provincial capital.

According to the initial results released by IBA Sukkur University, a significant number of high-achieving students struggled in the test. Nearly 56 percent of students who secured A1 or A grades in their intermediate exams failed the MBBS entrance test while 48 percent could not pass the BDS exam.

The data shows that 14,300 candidates managed to score 99 marks or above (55%) in the MBBS category, whereas 17,123 students passed the BDS test with 90 marks or above (50%).

Despite the large number of participants, more than half of the MBBS candidates were declared unsuccessful, reflecting the challenging nature of this year’s MDCAT.

As per the merit list, Syed Mehmood Khan, son of Adalat Khan from Karachi West, achieved the highest score with 175 out of 180 marks. Faisal Ashraf Khan, son of Naveed Ashraf Khan from Korangi and Shehraz Hussain, son of Niaz Hussain Mugheri from Qambar Shahdadkot, secured the second position with 174 marks each.
