KARACHI. June 2, 2025: The metropolitan city of Karachi will get double decker buses next moth.

This was announced by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon on Monday. He said that the provincial government is committed to empowering women and quality public transportation is part of that commitment.
He also said that ‘Pink taxi service’ will also be started for women in the city, adding that Pink EV Scooties are also being given to women.
The minister told media that Sindh government has started receiving applications for these motorcycles, but the process is slow as yet because only 140 women have licenses.

Meanwhile, Karachi Traffic Police also has an advisory to make the roads of the city safe and sound for everyone. Following are some of the main pointers:
- Adhere to speed limits as posted on roads.
- Motorcyclists must wear helmets at all times.
- Seat belts are mandatory for drivers and passengers.
- Follow lane discipline and avoid reckless lane changes.
- Obey traffic signals and signs without exceptions.
- No wrong-way driving allowed on one-way streets.

Violations can result in fines, vehicle impoundment, or other penalties designed to promote responsible driving.
