Karachi Traffic Police Issues Advisory for Independence Day Celebrations at National Stadium

Karachi, August 13, 2025 – Karachi Traffic Police have issued an important traffic advisory for motorists ahead of the Independence Day celebrations and the highly anticipated “Marka-e-Haq” event scheduled at the National Stadium this evening.

According to the advisory, the celebrations will commence at 6:00 p.m., with heavy traffic congestion expected from 5:00 p.m. onwards on all roads leading to the venue. Authorities have cautioned that traffic delays may continue until 2:00 a.m. and urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel between Civic Centre and the National Stadium during this period.

The “Marka-e-Haq” celebration is being held under a theme announced last month by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, highlighting Pakistan’s resilience, progress, and national pride following the April–May military confrontation with India.

Karachi Traffic Police have also advised motorists to use alternative routes where possible and to remain patient during the event. Security personnel will be deployed across major roads and intersections to facilitate smooth traffic movement and ensure the safety of attendees.

Event organizers and authorities have emphasized that public cooperation is crucial to prevent congestion and allow emergency services to operate efficiently. Citizens attending the event are encouraged to arrive early and use public transport if available to minimize traffic issues.

The Independence Day celebrations at the National Stadium are expected to draw a large number of attendees, including families, dignitaries, and guests from across the city, as Pakistan commemorates its 78th Independence Day with patriotic fervor and nationwide celebrations.
