The Karachi Traffic Police have announced a new discount policy on e challan fines to encourage citizens to clear their dues on time. The aim is to make the fine payment system easier and to motivate people to follow traffic rules more responsibly. This step is also intended to reduce the large number of unpaid e challans across the city. Under the new policy first time violators can get their fine waived by submitting a written apology. In case of a second violation if the fine is paid within fourteen days a fifty percent discount will be given. However if the fine is not cleared within twenty one days the full amount will be charged without any reduction.
How the Discount Works
| Situation | Fine Rule |
|---|---|
| First Violation | Written apology will waive the fine |
| Second Violation | Fifty percent discount if paid within 14 days |
| After 21 Days | Full fine amount must be paid with no discount |

Why This Policy Matters
This decision is expected to encourage timely fine payments and improve overall traffic discipline in Karachi. Many motorists delay their challan payments which increases pending cases and adds pressure on the system. By offering a discount the authorities hope more people will clear their fines quickly. At the same time the policy reminds drivers that following traffic rules is essential for road safety. Safe driving protects not only the driver but also passengers pedestrians and other road users.
