Karachi weather is expected to stay mostly cloudy on Monday (today), with light drizzle likely during the evening and night, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
As per the latest Karachi weather update, the return of sea breeze has slightly improved conditions in the port city. However, due to high humidity levels, citizens may continue to experience intense heat during the daytime.
The Met Office forecast indicates that the maximum temperature in Karachi could touch 34°C. It also mentioned that no significant rainfall is predicted for Karachi throughout the week.
Meanwhile, several regions of Punjab, already struggling with destructive floods, are expected to receive heavy showers for the next few days starting Monday.
The National Emergency Operations Center of NDMA has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy downpours in Islamabad and multiple Punjab districts, lasting from Monday through Wednesday.
The flood risk may worsen in already affected areas, including Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Chiniot, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, and Faisalabad.
Similar flood threats are predicted for Murree, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.
Authorities have warned that heavy showers in upper catchment areas and strong river currents may rapidly intensify flood torrents, especially near Marala Headworks, which could endanger nearby settlements.
