KARACHI: The National Disaster Management Authority and Met Office’s heatwave alarm has prompted the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) to announce the postponing of the class 9 and 10 annual examinations.
“With reference to Notification No. SO(Boards-I)/U&B/Annual-Exam2024, all parties involved are hereby notified that the SSC Part I & II 1st Annual Examination-2024 which was originally scheduled to take place from May 21 to 27 2024, has been postponed. This decision was made in response to the heat wave alert that was issued by NDMA & PDMA. Mr. Muhammad Ali Malkani, Controlling Authority Sindh Boards of Education Minister, Universities & Board Department, Government of Sindh, has issued this order.
It further stated that the before mentioned examination will now proceed as planned, beginning on May 28, 2024. Later on, the updated schedule of postponed papers will be released. The intermediate exams were already postponed by the government till May 27 in response to heat waves and rising temperatures.
