Islamabad, Oct 15: Kazakh PM Arrives to Attend 23rd SCO Summit. Olzhas Bektenov, the prime minister of Kazakhstan, came to this city on Tuesday to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) twenty-third Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting.
At Islamabad International Airport, the esteemed visitor was cordially welcomed Kazakh PM by Minister of Investment, Privatization, and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan. The international dignitaries were given flower bouquets by children dressed in traditional clothing.
The attendees were greeted by a red carpet, highlighting the significance of the occasion and the friendly ties between the two countries. It should be noted that representatives from participating nations had already begun to arrive in the federal capital, which had been given a makeover to greet the dignitaries with banners and flags from SCO member states, as well as brilliant lighting and floral decorations.
As the current chair of the Council, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will preside over the two-day meeting of the SCO CHG, the second-highest body within the SCO. At the last conference, which took place in Bishkek on October 26, 2023, Pakistan took over as the rotating chair of the SCO CHG for 2023–2024. Jalil Abbas Jilani, who was the country’s interim foreign minister at the time, represented Pakistan.
