Perry revived in his backyard hot tub in October 2023 before dying by the acute effects of Ketamine, triggering a highly-publicized investigation of Hollywoods illicit drug supply chain.

One of the five defendants who have all pleaded to plead guilty is Sangha, along with doctors Salvador Plasencia and Mark Chavez, the assistant Kenneth Iwamasa to Perry and dealer Eric Fleming. Authorities claimed that Sangha was dealing ketamine as early as seven years before and operated a so-called Sangha Stash House, providing celebrities and other affluent clients.
