Islamabad, June 22, 2025: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced a 10-year age relaxation policy for job seekers aiming to enter the provincial public sector. This bold move is expected to benefit thousands of candidates, especially those who previously fell short of the upper age limit.
As per the official notification, applicants applying for Grade 17 and above posts are now eligible for a 10-year upper age relaxation. Similarly, Secretariat roles falling under Grade 16 and below also come under this expanded policy. In contrast, non-Secretariat posts will require age relaxation approval from Administrative Secretaries and respective department heads.
This revised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Age Relaxation Policy 2025 also includes compassionate clauses for families of government servants who lost their lives in terrorist incidents. Their widows and children will be given special consideration under the updated rules.
Alongside this reform, the KP government amended the Civil Servants Rules 2008, reflecting a broader vision for inclusive recruitment and increased access to public sector careers. This policy is similar in tone to Sindh’s earlier initiative that extended the maximum age limit to 33 years, excluding some departments.
In a parallel move, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) has also granted a one-time extension for candidates appearing in the PMS (Provincial Management Service) exams. Aspirants can now apply up to the age of 35 and have a total of four attempts for the 2025 and 2026 cycles.
