Islamabad, 23 May 2025: Kia Freezes Sportage bookings in Pakistan for its L HEV variant as the company navigates growing global demand and uncertainty over the arrival of essential assembly components.
The temporary suspension was confirmed by Kia Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC), citing unpredictable delivery timelines of Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits as the primary reason.
Temporary Pause Due to Global Demand Surge
Company officials stated that the Sportage L HEV will not be available for new bookings until the supply chain becomes stable. However, customers who have already placed their orders need not worry, as the firm has assured that all pre-booked units will be delivered in line with the timelines outlined in the Provisional Booking Order (PBO).
In a statement, the automaker reiterated its commitment to keeping customers informed, explaining that regular updates will be provided as the situation develops. It also highlighted that the decision was made in response to a global increase in demand for hybrid vehicles, which has impacted supply chains worldwide.
Other Sportage Variants Still Available
Despite the halt, LMC clarified that other Sportage variants, including the 2.0L Alpha and 2.0L Front-Wheel Drive (FWD), remain available for booking. Deliveries of these models are expected to continue without disruption, as the company has secured a stable inventory of the required kits for these trims.
By confirming continued availability for some models, Kia aims to meet varying customer needs while navigating the broader supply limitations.
