Newly elected Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, has announced a plan to provide free solar power to 120,000 homes across the province.
The announcement came during his first address in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly after being elected as the new chief minister.
During his speech, Afridi also announced several other welfare programs. He said financial assistance will be given to deserving pregnant women, including three months of expenses for families with newborn girls under the Ehsaas Maa Program.
He further assured that Ehsaas Scholarships for orphan girls would continue, providing free education and support to underprivileged students.
Afridi said tourism development would remain a priority, with special focus on the northern and Hazara regions.

He also shared update on the D.I. Khan–Peshawar and Dir Motorways that construction would begin soon, improving connectivity and boosting local economies.
