The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has officially passed the Government Servants Housing Foundation Bill, opening the door to a new foundation dedicated to offering residential plots to government employees at affordable rates.

This bill has been introduced to tackle the growing issue of housing shortages, as thousands of employees across the province struggle with rising rental costs and limited residential options. Under the law, plots will be allotted strictly on a no-profit, no-loss basis, ensuring fair access for all.

Funding for the Government Servants Housing Foundation will come through federal and provincial government grants, while a small monthly deduction will also be made from employees’ salaries to strengthen the fund.

The initiative is expected to provide much-needed relief to public sector workers, reducing their financial burden by ensuring they can own homes instead of paying excessive rents. In the long run, the Government Servants Housing Foundation is set to play a crucial role in securing affordable housing opportunities for employees across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
