Islamabad, Jan 12: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Introduces Financial Assistance Program for Families of Deceased Breadwinners
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government, led by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, has launched a new financial assistance program aimed at providing relief to the families of deceased breadwinners. Under this program:
- Families of deceased breadwinners under the age of 60 will receive Rs1 million.
- Families of deceased breadwinners aged over 60 will be granted Rs500,000.
This initiative is being promoted as part of the Chief Minister’s vision to transform KP into a model state, often referred to as the “State of Madinah”.
In a related development, the federal government has also taken steps to support families facing hardship due to missing persons. The Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar shared that the Federal Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, approved a significant Rs5 million financial aid package for the families of missing persons.
The assistance will be provided to offer legal and financial support to the heirs of those missing. This decision is based on the recommendations of earlier committees and reviews of their final reports. Furthermore, the government has decided to form a special committee to assess the genuine cases and determine the need for further support for affected families. These programs reflect both provincial and federal efforts to assist vulnerable families through direct financial aid and legal backing.
