Islamabad, 2 June, 2025: Furnish All Public Schools that’s the directive issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government as it prepares for a sweeping education reform in the upcoming fiscal year.
In a decisive move, Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has ordered immediate action to provide classroom furniture for every student enrolled in the province’s public school system.
At a high-level meeting to finalize the Annual Development Programme (ADP), Gandapur stressed that no student should be forced to sit on the ground due to a shortage of desks or chairs.
“Furniture procurement will be treated as a top-priority item,” he said, underlining the urgency tied to the government’s declared education emergency.

The Chief Minister also emphasized improvements to core facilities across government schools. These include the installation of clean drinking water systems, functioning toilets, and structurally sound classrooms.
Education officials have been directed to launch a comprehensive initiative aimed at raising academic standards, which includes mandatory modern training for all newly appointed teachers. The objective is to uplift the quality of learning while simultaneously addressing infrastructure deficiencies.
As part of the ADP planning session, senior provincial leaders reviewed development proposals from various departments.
The Chief Minister made it clear that practical, community-oriented projects would take precedence over symbolic ventures. “We must prioritize what directly benefits the people,” Gandapur said.
With a strong focus on equity, the KP administration has committed to allocating resources fairly across all constituencies. The government aims to bridge the urban-rural divide, especially in education, where many schools in less developed areas continue to operate without basic classroom furnishings.

The pledge to Furnish All Public Schools has been welcomed by educators and parents alike, who have long criticized the lack of investment in basic school infrastructure. This promise comes at a time when education outcomes in the region are under increasing scrutiny.
As planning progresses for the next budget cycle, the provincial government reiterated its intent to follow through. “The goal to Furnish All Public Schools is not symbolic it’s foundational to our strategy for long-term educational reform,” said a senior official familiar with the policy discussions.
