Islamabad, Oct 18: Ahtisham Ali, advisor to the chief minister of health for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stated here on Thursday night that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was offering internships to Pakistani medical students studying abroad.
In response to a question of order in the KP Assembly, the chief medical assistant stated that internships for medical students with degrees from foreign medical schools and universities are offered on a merit-based basis, subject to space availability, in all teaching medical facilities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He stated that the main obstacles in this respect were the scarcity of seats and the lack of funds.
Prior to this, MPA Abdul Salam raised an orderly issue, stating that it was a tremendous injustice to deny foreign medical students paid house positions at medical teaching institutions in KP. He insisted that all house job doctors be paid.
