Islamabad, 13 June 2025: KP Police personnel are set to receive a substantial salary adjustment as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government prepares to equalize pay scales with those of the Punjab Police.
The move is part of a broader effort to improve workforce motivation and strengthen law enforcement capabilities across the province.
As per government insiders, a proposal has been added to the upcoming provincial budget that will harmonize salaries for officers from Grade 1 to Grade 16 with the pay structure currently in place in Punjab.

For officers in Grade 17 and above, the administration intends to enhance special allowances rather than adjust base pay.
To further support its law enforcement strategy, the government has earmarked Rs 16 billion for the development of police infrastructure and services in the tribal districts.
The funding is expected to improve operational readiness and expand the capabilities of forces deployed in high-risk zones.
KP Police leadership has expressed strong support for the initiative. In an interview with Geo News, Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed described the salary reform as a “praiseworthy initiative” that acknowledges the sacrifices made by officers confronting terrorism and extremism on the frontlines.
He noted that the pay parity would significantly raise morale and reinforce the force’s resolve.
In addition to financial upgrades, the KP Police in tribal areas will benefit from the acquisition of advanced weapons and security equipment.

The goal, according to officials, is to empower law enforcement units in volatile regions with the tools required to maintain peace and security.
Analysts view the alignment of compensation as a long-overdue reform that may not only uplift morale but also enhance recruitment and retention in a province facing consistent security challenges.
The measure is being welcomed as a strategic step in strengthening provincial policing capacity in line with national standards.
