The project involves the construction of multiple underpasses on the city’s heavily-trafficked Ring Road, with an estimated cost of Rs. 8 billion.
According to official sources, the project aims to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted traffic flow by constructing underpasses at key choke points along Ring Road. This major step is expected to ease daily travel for thousands of commuters and improve urban mobility in Peshawar.

An initial allocation of Rs. 300 million has been proposed in the upcoming development budget. These funds will be utilized for the preparation of the PC-1 document, feasibility studies, and initial groundwork.
Officials further stated that the formal launch of the project is expected next year, following necessary approvals from relevant departments and planning forums.
Once completed, the underpasses will play a crucial role in reducing traffic jams and enhancing the overall transportation experience in Peshawar. The initiative is part of the KP government’s broader effort to modernize urban infrastructure and cater to the growing needs of the province’s capital city.
