The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced another revolutionary step towards digital governance, bringing good news for government employees.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has approved the launch of the Ehsaas e-Pension System, which will come into effect from January 1, 2026. The Chief Minister’s Secretariat has prepared a concept paper for the e-Pension System, and the Finance Department has been instructed to implement it.
From January 2026, new pensioners will receive payments under the e-Pension System. The current paper-based pension process will be fully transformed into a paperless e-Pension system. For this purpose, an Ehsaas Pension Dashboard will be introduced, which will be a web-based platform consisting entirely of paperless workflows.
Under the new system, employees will be able to submit their pension cases by filling out a simple digital form on the portal six months before retirement. All required documents can be securely scanned and uploaded directly to the portal. In the next stage, the system will automatically create time-bound tasks for the concerned authorities.
At no stage will physical files or papers be used. The entire process of verification and approval will be completed digitally. The system will automatically generate sanction orders, retirement orders, pension papers, and pension payment orders, all digitally signed and legally acceptable.
The e-Pension System will include an integrated and effective mechanism for monitoring departmental performance. The Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, and Finance Secretary will monitor progress through the dashboard. This paperless system will be linked with NADRA, the AG Office, and banks, ensuring that pensions are transferred to retirees’ bank accounts within the set timeline.
To make the e-Pension System sustainable, necessary amendments in relevant laws have been proposed. A 10-point roadmap has been prepared to ensure timely execution, assigning clear goals and timelines to the concerned departments.
The formal inauguration of the e-Pension System is scheduled for January 15, 2026. With its launch, the pension processing time will be reduced from several months to just 2–4 weeks.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said that with this online system, pensioners will no longer need to visit offices for their pensions. Employees will be free from the difficulties and problems present in the current pension system. This will be a truly paperless system, promoting transparency and accountability.

He further stated that the provincial government is taking steps to make the province a truly “Digital Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” in line with Imran Khan’s vision. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be the first province in the country to launch an e-Pension System. So far, the provincial government has digitized 36 different public services, while work on bringing the remaining services online is rapidly progressing.
