Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is moving ahead with the proposed Boyun New Ski Resort in Boyun Valley, Kalam Swat, aiming to offer world-class skiing and modern winter facilities.

The plan was reviewed in a meeting chaired by Secretary of Culture, Tourism, Archaeology, and Museums, Dr Abdul Samad, on Tuesday.

Dr Abdul Samad highlighted that the Boyun Valley site spans around 2,900 acres of lush green forest. “The vision of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is to modernize tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” said Dr Samad. “This resort will provide new recreational options for locals and nurture professional ski talent in Pakistan.”

The master plan sets aside 1,400 acres for skiing slopes and 1,500 acres for hotels, restaurants and other amenities. Dr Samad assured that environmental protection is a top priority. “No tree in the existing forest will be cut for this project,” he said.

Consultants confirmed that the area planned for skiing slopes is free of trees. The government intends to offer a long-term lease of about 33 years to a development partner to construct and operate the Boyun ski resort.
