Islamabad, June 28, 2025: The provincial administration has decided to close all hotels, eateries, and business operations situated along the Swat River during the monsoon period as a precautionary measure against any possible danger to life or property.
As per officials, Section 144 has already been imposed throughout the province, restricting recreational activities in rivers, streams, and watercourses.
To prevent both tourists and residents from entering riverbanks, the district and local authorities have initiated a widespread information drive.

Using the media, online platforms, and loudspeaker announcements, the public is being firmly advised to avoid rivers and not endanger their lives amid the monsoon showers.
Officials have once again requested both travelers and locals to strictly observe safety guidelines and adopt all essential safety measures to avoid any mishaps.

these measures are taken after flash floods triggered by a sudden surge in the Swat River and other streams in the district following heavy monsoon rains on Friday claimed the lives of at least 10 people, while several others remain missing.
