The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Authority has announced that all individuals and businesses connected to the tourism and hospitality industry must complete online registration and obtain a digital license before starting operations.

The decision aims to ensure safety for citizens and tourists and improve the quality of services across the province.

According to the official notification, every establishment within the hospitality sector including hotels, restaurants, travel and tour operators must register with the authority. The same rule applies to rent-a-car services and tourist guides, who will now be required to obtain digital licenses through the new system.

Officials said the main goal of the policy is to protect tourists and locals from exploitation and ensure standardized, quality service delivery. They added that the move will help bring the hospitality industry under proper legal and regulatory control.
