Islamabad, Aug 13 2025: The single by HUNTR/X, called Golden, has hit the Billboard Hot 100 crest, making it the first all-female three-member or more-member ensemble to top the verge in 24 years, when Destiny Child, founded by Beyonce, did the same with Bootylicious in August 2001.

he song is an empowerment anthem that was released in the soundtrack of the popular Netflix animated film, KPop Demon Hunters performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI. t is the first Hot 100 No. 1 and that of a female K-pop group of any kind (HUNTR/X included), and the ninth song affiliated with K-pop to top the chart.

Larry chart-toppers in the genre are the six No. 1 songs by BTS, and “Seven” by Jung Kook featuring Latto and “Like Crazy” by Jimin. The song also becomes the debut No. 1 song by a fictional group since We Don’t Talk About Bruno, by Encanto in 2022.

The track gained 31.7 million U.S. streams (up 9 percent), 8.4 million radio impressions (up 71 percent) and 7,000 downloads (up 35 percent) between August 1-7. It also remains on the Billboard Soundtracks chart seven weeks in position #1, which gives it a higher chance of getting an Oscar in the Best Original song category.

Unusually, in an episode to a Netflix animation, KPop Demon Hunters will have a theatrical release, on August 2324, in Regal Theaters sing-along screenings. Samsung Electronics has also released a free Galaxy smartphone wallpaper pack emblazoned with film characters such as Rumi, Zoey, Jinu and special HUNTR/X patterns.

The film, output of Sony Pictures Animation, is a story which tells about a girl band which fights the evil spirits to protect human race. The viral hype around Golden and KPop Demon Hunters does not seem to calm down as the music and brand within the film continue to top the charts and screens all over the globe.
