Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) is set to launch a Herbal Medicine Clinic in collaboration with Qurshi Industries, marking a new step in promoting student welfare and community health.
The initiative was announced by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas during a media briefing on Tuesday. He said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will soon be signed between the university and Qurshi Industries.
Under the partnership, the clinic will offer free herbal medicines to students, faculty members, journalists, and the local community, reflecting a strong model of public-private cooperation for accessible healthcare.
Dr. Ilyas also highlighted upcoming projects including integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into academic programs, an Open Distance Learning initiative, and expansion of university infrastructure.

He added that an MoU with a government-affiliated tech organization is being finalized to give students access to AI tools and training. The Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme distribution process has also begun, with allocations made on merit through the Higher Education Commission.
Concluding the session, Dr. Ilyas reaffirmed KUST’s commitment to enhancing educational quality, research opportunities and student welfare, emphasizing that the university is working to create a modern and inclusive learning environment.
