Islamabad, Dec 8: Citing intentions to improve and expand the system, Kuwait has temporarily suspended its electronic visa (e-Visa) program for citizens of 53 countries. Travelers who previously used the internet portal to obtain admittance into the nation prior to their arrival would be impacted by this change.
These nations are:
Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Laos, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bhutan, Brunei, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, and the United Kingdom.
The suspension is a part of efforts to “develop and enhance” the system, according to a notification posted on Kuwait’s official e-Visa portal. The Ministry of Interior, which is in charge of the e-Visa service, has not provided a timeframe, but the objective is to make the procedure more sophisticated and easy for foreign tourists to utilize.
Kuwaiti authorities have made it clear that citizens of the 53 impacted nations can still apply for a tourist visa upon arrival in Kuwait in order to minimize any disruptions to tourists during the transition.
How to Get a Visa When You Arrive in Kuwait
At immigration checkpoints, qualified passengers arriving at Kuwait International Airport can apply for a three-month, single-entry tourist visa. Candidates need to bring the following paperwork:
1. A passport with a minimum six-month validity period from the date of entrance.
2. A ticket to return or continue.
3. The visa price is three Kuwaiti dinars (KWD).
Visitors must also not be on Kuwait’s blacklist and, when completing the application process at the airport visa counter, offer a valid residential address for the duration of their stay.
