Islamabad, 23 April 2025: Islamabad United have brought in West Indies all-rounder Kyle Mayers as a replacement for South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen.
Matthew Short has also been ruled out for the remainder of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10.
The franchise confirmed that van der Dussen has withdrawn from the tournament due to personal reasons.
Matthew Short, who had also been a part of the squad, has similarly been ruled out of the rest of the season.
With both overseas players out, Islamabad United swiftly signed Kyle Mayers for his power-hitting and handy medium pace.
Mayers is set to join the squad in Lahore before their sixth match, with his inclusion viewed as a move to sustain momentum and balance.

Coach Hesson expressed confidence in Mayers’ abilities, pointing to his track record in T20 leagues and international cricket.
He noted that although Islamabad have performed well so far, the team is focused on ensuring depth and flexibility as the tournament progresses.
The team manager of Islamabad United, Rehan Ul Haq, also welcomed the addition of Mayers, calling him a perfect fit for the franchise’s style of play.
He added that the team remains focused on lifting their fourth PSL trophy and sees Mayers’ arrival as a positive step toward that goal.
United remain unbeaten in the competition under the leadership of Shadab Khan and are currently considered strong contenders for the title once again.
