Measures to curb smog and air pollution are underway. Monitoring of trucks and trolleys carrying construction materials has begun 24 hours a day, and heavy vehicles not following SOPs are banned from entering Lahore.
A zero-tolerance policy will be enforced against smoke-emitting vehicles, and daily operations will be conducted against overloaded trolleys.
The movement of sand, gravel, soil, and other materials without proper covering will be strictly prohibited. The EPA force continues inspections at Lahore’s entry points, imposing heavy fines and seizing vehicles that violate environmental laws. Water sprinkling operations are being carried out at construction sites and dust zones.
EPA, WASA, and the district administration will conduct water sprinkling operations starting from nighttime to control dust, as controlling dust is essential for preventing smog. All departments will remain active in the field.

No truck or trolley will now be allowed to carry construction materials without a tarpaulin cover. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed all departments to submit reports on anti-smog activities and has also instructed to make the public awareness campaign more effective.
