Islamabad, July 22, 2025: In a move to ease city growing traffic problems, the Punjab government is once again seriously considering starting work on the Elevated Expressway in Lahore.
Recently, Housing Secretary Noor-ul-Amin Mengal held a meeting to check the progress of the project. He told the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to redesign the project using the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) method.
He also instructed officials to update the project cost and make changes to the design. One idea being discussed is to give the project to a private company for up to 30 years. During this time, the company could collect tolls from vehicles.
