Lahore, July 18, 2025: The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Lahore announced on Friday that strict measures will be implemented against motorbike riders who do not wear helmets.
Starting Monday, a zero-tolerance policy will be enforced, prohibiting any rider from being on the city’s roads without a helmet.

The CTO stated that legal cases will be filed against those who violate the regulation. The new policy is aimed at reducing the increasing number of accidents and series injuries from motorbike accidents.
Officials will also work to raise awareness about the importance of helmet use and the requirement for proper number plates on motorbikes.
Traffic warden were warned that failure to enforce the ‘helmet law’ would result in losing their jobs for up to a year. The measure is intended to ensure accountability among the public but law enforcers, as well.
Recent data highlights the need for stricter implemented of traffic laws. In a single day, over 13 police personnel and around 3,000 citizens were reportedly stopped for various traffic violations, including riding without helmets.

Earlier, the Chief Minister of Punjab ordered a ban on motorbike riding without helmets due to a sharp spike on motorist accidents.
