Islamabad, Oct 2: Lahore Set to Host National Weightlifting Championships, Showcasing Top Talent. The Railway Stadium in Lahore will host the 66th National Men’s and Women’s Weightlifting Championship from October 8 to 10. The Pakistan Weightlifting Federation is hosting this esteemed competition, which is sure to be a highlight for up-and-coming lifters in the country.
The Pakistan Weightlifting Federation (PWF) President, Hafiz Imran Butt, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming championship, which will feature four days of fierce action. The PWF President states that in an effort to gauge the depth of talent in both the men’s and women’s divisions in National weightlifting, the event will also feature the 3rd Railway Chief Executive Officer Weightlifting Gold Cup and the 6th National Women’s Weightlifting Championship.
As they compete for national titles and personal bests, weightlifters from across the country will have the chance to show off their strength, talent, and willpower. The PWF anticipates that the Lahore event would garner a lot of attention from various sources, which will help to advance weightlifting in Pakistan.
Recent politics involving parallel bodies and the exclusion of athletes like Commonwealth Gold Medallist Nooh Dastgir Butt have cast a shadow over weightlifting in the nation. It is hoped that this occasion would contribute to the sport’s rebirth in the nation.
