Islamabad, Aug 18: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has launched an online system for the submission and approval of residential development proposals, marking a significant step towards modernization.

According to specifics, LDA is continuously working to improve citizen services and expedite urban development procedures, and this new project is one of such efforts. Residential building proposals are currently being accepted through the internet portal of the LDA Citizen Facilitation Centre, also referred to as the One Window Cell. Twelve private housing schemes have already submitted blueprints to the LDA E-Khidmat Center in its first phase, and the corresponding digital challans have been issued.

These proposals will be processed entirely online, from submission to approval. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq commended the online procedure and emphasized the authority’s commitment to shortening the time needed for residential building plan clearance during a review at the E-Khidmat Center. Additionally, he emphasized the LDA’s plan to gradually replace the antiquated paper application and approval process with this more effective digital one.

The LDA DG was informed by Chief Town Planners Azhar Ali and Asad Uz Zaman on the new system’s advancement and possible advantages. The LDA’s move to an online platform is a major step in improving urban planning’s usability, efficiency, and accessibility for the people of Lahore. This digital transformation is anticipated to reinforce LDA’s commitment to deliver excellent services to the public while also speeding up the approval process and increasing transparency and convenience for residents.
