Islamabad, Oct 21: LDA Provides Insights to Dubai Delegation on Town Planning, Digitization, and Reform Initiatives. A seven-member delegation from Dubai Land Development (DLD) was briefed by Director General (DG) Tahir Farooq of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on the organization’s activities and current changes. The news was taken from an October 18 newspaper.
The group was informed on important facets of LDA’s operations, including as property management, town planning, land use regulations, and building and zoning laws, according to the report. The Citizen Facilitation Center, private housing projects, and ongoing digitization initiatives were also discussed. The delegation suggested the implementation of escrow accounts in the development industry and offered recommendations for enhancing the administration of private housing schemes.
In addition to praising DLD’s experience, DG LDA Tahir Farooq pointed out that the collaboration under the previously signed Memorandum of Understanding is offering helpful technical assistance. The team also praised LDA’s online building plan approval system during their visit to the Property Transfer Cell and Citizen Facilitation Center. At the end of the visit, souvenirs were traded.
In the course of the briefing, the innovative approaches of LDA towards spatial planning and the utilization of urban land was presented and referred to sustainable development. The delegation was especially keen on how the LDA was applying technologies to automate and transform activities, increase accountability, and pass efficient services to citizens.
Also the emphasis was made on the topic regarding the application of smart city solutions and the application of big data in the handle of cities.
