Islamabad, Nov 29: LDA Seals Dozens of Illegal Properties in Lahore Crackdown. During an operation on Thursday, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) destroyed a number of unlawful buildings and sealed 96 houses in different parts of the provincial capital. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq ordered these actions to be taken as part of continuing efforts to enforce building codes and stop illegal development.
Gulberg, New Garden Town, Faisal Town, Allama Iqbal Town, Shadman, and Gulshan Ravi were among the localities that were the focus of the operations. Thirty properties in Shadman and Gulshan Ravi, thirty in Allama Iqbal Town, and thirty in Gulberg, New Garden Town, and Faisal Town were blocked. Private schools, workplaces, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, salons, and retail establishments were among the facilities that were sealed.
The LDA personnel destroyed several unauthorized buildings in Wapda Town, College Road Township, and Defence Road in addition to sealing properties. Several letters had been sent to property owners in advance, giving them time to correct infractions before enforcement action was started.
The operation was overseen by Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali and Chief Town Planner Asad-ul-Zaman. DG LDA Tahir Farooq reaffirmed the authority’s dedication to following the law when it comes to building and development. He declared, “We will continue to take strict action against tax defaulters, unauthorized constructions, and illegal commercial buildings.”
