LESCO has decided to increase the demand notice fee for single-phase connections. In addition, the price of smart meters has also been raised to Rs. 13,786, which is expected to further increase consumer costs.
Meanwhile, LESCO has also begun collecting detailed data on single-phase meters installed in homes. The Directorate of Customer Services has issued a directive to field officers to provide records of consumers’ CNIC numbers along with all installed meters. The purpose is to maintain complete data on the number of meters installed per consumer.
The Power Planning and Monitoring Company (PPMC) had requested this meter data from all electricity distribution companies, including LESCO, after which a notification was issued. Based on this record, consumers with a higher number of installed meters will be identified.

In cases where additional meters have been installed illegally, they will be flagged under the “protected category.” As per NEPRA regulations, action will be taken against violators in line with government decisions.
