Islamabad, Sep 26: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore to make a decision regarding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s request to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan by September 30.
Details of the Rally Request
- The PTI seeks permission to conduct a rally on October 5, coinciding with the birthday of the party’s founder, Imran Khan.
- The court’s order followed a plea from Akmal Khan Bari, PTI’s Central Punjab Senior Vice President, requesting the court to hear their case for the public gathering.
Court Proceedings
The LHC has mandated that the DC decide on the matter by September 30, and the court’s official lawyer has been tasked with informing the DC about this directive.
Previously, the PTI had approached the district administration to seek the necessary permissions for their power show at Minar-e-Pakistan, emphasizing that holding public gatherings is their constitutional right.
