Islamabad, June 21, 2025: Islamabad witnessed light rain early Saturday morning, giving a small break from the long days of extreme heat. The city went through one of it’s worst heatwaves in years this June, as temperatures touched 45°C on June 11 — making it one of the hottest days ever recorded in Islamabad.
Earlier this week, the Met Office said that pre-monsoon showers are likely predicted in many cities including Rawalpindi and Islamabad between June 20 to 23. It further added that the intense heat is expected to slowly decrease during that time.
Officials anticipate this year’s monsoon to bring around 25% more rainfall then the usual average nationwide, with notable shift in weather patterns across several areas.
