Islamabad, Feb 4: Astronomy enthusiasts in Pakistan will have limited opportunities to witness celestial events in 2025, as the country will miss out on both solar eclipses while getting a chance to observe only one of the two lunar eclipses, according to a report by 24NewsHD TV.
Solar Eclipses in 2025:
- March 29, 2025 – Partial Solar Eclipse
- Visible in parts of the Northern Hemisphere, including Europe, North America, and Asia.
- September 21, 2025 – Partial Solar Eclipse
- Visible in regions of the Southern Hemisphere, including parts of South America and Antarctica.
Lunar Eclipses in 2025:
- March 14, 2025 – Total Lunar Eclipse
- Visible in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and parts of Asia.
- September 7, 2025 – Total Lunar Eclipse
- Visible in most parts of the world, including North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
In contrast, both solar eclipses in 2025 will remain out of sight for Pakistan. The first solar eclipse will occur on March 29, but it will not be visible from the region. Similarly, the second solar eclipse, expected to take place between September 21 and 22, will also be unobservable from Pakistan, as confirmed by the Meteorological Department.
While other parts of the world will get the opportunity to experience these rare cosmic events, stargazers in Pakistan will have to wait for future eclipses to enjoy a direct view of such astronomical wonders.
