Islamabad, Aug 14, 2025: Liverpool have completed a deal to acquire centre back Giovanni Leoni of Parma aged 18 years at a transfer fee of 26 million pounds, plus additional clauses in regard to performances. The 18-year-old will fly to Merseyside for a medical assessment and to finalise personal conditions, a stint out on loan is seen as unlikely with the youngster going straight into the first-team set-up.
Reds overcame rivalry with other major Serie A clubs such as AC Milan and Napoli and also English top flight football clubs like Brighton and Hove Albion with Leoni openly expressing interest in playing under Arne Slot. His signing enhances Liverpool s defence line, especially Ibrahima Konate who has only one year on his contract at Anfield.
Liverpool are also maintaining talks with Crystal Palace about England international Marc Guehi. Although they are the favourites, the Reds may have to wait until the upcoming summer to secure his services on a free since the asking price at Palace is quite high. Guehi is a major talent to Palace and any transfer would take a lot of negotiating.

The completion will bring Liverpool to £321.5m of spending this summer, the third-highest transfer outlay in a single window by a Premier League club.
Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, whose value is estimated at more than 100m, is another target and should Liverpool secure his signature, come to the end of the business before the start of the season, it can match the world-record transfer that Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United, also during the summer of 2003.
