The district administration of Shaheed Benazirabad has declared a local holiday on Monday November 17 2025 in observance of the 754th annual Urs of the Sufi saint Syed Asghar Ali Shah commonly known as Sakhi Jam Datar. All government offices schools and public departments in the district will remain closed for the day while devotees gather at Jam Sahib town for this spiritual event.

The Urs celebration runs from November 17 to November 19 and draws visitors from across Sindh and beyond. It includes religious rituals Sufi music and communal meals that honor the legacy of Sakhi Jam Datar. The local administration has already finalized security and crowd management arrangements to ensure the gatherings proceed safely and smoothly.
