Islamabad, Dec 26: Flyadeal, Saudi Arabia’s low-cost carrier, has announced its plans to launch scheduled flights to Karachi, Pakistan’s commercial hub, starting February 2, 2025. This marks a significant milestone in Flyadeal’s international expansion strategy, as it becomes the airline’s first scheduled service to Pakistan and South Asia.
The airline will operate twice-weekly flights connecting Karachi with Riyadh, the Saudi capital, and Jeddah, the Kingdom’s commercial center. CEO Steven Greenway highlighted that additional Pakistani cities are planned for future routes. He praised the collaboration between Pakistani authorities and the airline’s planning team in introducing this new market, which he described as a natural step given the strong cultural and historical ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
Greenway also pointed to Flyadeal’s earlier success in operating Hajj charters to Pakistan, emphasizing that the new routes to Karachi will not only expand the airline’s network but also mark its entry into South Asia with scheduled services. Tickets to Pakistan are already available for booking through the airline’s official channels.
The airline’s international growth is part of a broader strategy to expand its fleet and network. Over the next year, Flyadeal plans to add new destinations across South Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. This expansion aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to attract over 150 million domestic and international tourists annually by 2030.
Flyadeal currently operates nearly 30 domestic and international routes from its primary hubs in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam. The airline’s expansion continues into January 2025, with new domestic flights from Dammam to Najran, Tabuk, and Yanbu, as well as new services from Riyadh and Jeddah to Amman, Jordan, set to launch on January 1.
