The session also involved senior officials from the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), who were in London discussing the Reko Diq Project.
Secretary of Petroleum Momin Agha noted that Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik was attending Russia Energy Week, emphasizing the importance of the London meetings.
During the meeting, the Director General of Oil reported that local refineries only meet Euro 2 standards for oil quality.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) proposed maintaining a 3 percent guaranteed return for refineries. Despite these financial incentives, Chairman Mehmood expressed disappointment at the lack of progress in product quality and reiterated the need for urgent improvements to ensure public safety.
