Islamabad 13 August: Madonna urges Pope Francis to visit Gaza, saying such a gesture could help spotlight the humanitarian crisis and potentially ease tensions in the war-torn enclave.

In a social media post on Tuesday, Madonna urged the pope to “stand with the innocent” and witness the conditions on the ground “before it’s too late.” She described the situation in Gaza as “catastrophic,” citing widespread destruction, shortages of basic necessities, and mounting civilian casualties.

The singer, known for her outspoken advocacy on global issues, said a papal visit would send a powerful moral message to world leaders and could help push for a ceasefire. “Your presence can inspire compassion, unity, and peace,” she wrote.

The Vatican has not yet issued a response to Madonna’s request. Pope Francis has previously called for an end to hostilities in Gaza, urging both sides to prioritize humanitarian concerns and protect civilians.

International aid agencies have warned of worsening conditions in the enclave, with the United Nations appealing for safe humanitarian access and an immediate halt to violence.
