Islamabad, Mar 12, 2025: Bangladesh’s seasoned cricketer Mahmudullah Riyad has officially retired from international cricket, bringing an end to a remarkable career that spanned over a decade.
The veteran all-rounder shared the news through a Facebook post on Wednesday, expressing gratitude to those who supported him throughout his journey.
He credited his teammates, coaches, and fans for their unwavering encouragement and acknowledged the significant role played by his family, particularly his brother Emdad Ullah, whom he described as a mentor and coach since childhood.
Mahmudullah’s decision comes just days after he opted out of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) central contract for the upcoming term, covering January 1 to December 31, 2025.
